Goonyella Backed For Grand National

Goonyella has been the subject of a £10,000 bet with William Hill ahead of this year’s Crabbie’s Grand National.

One William Hill punter placed a £5,000 each-way bet (total stakes £10k) at 25/1, on the horse who won last year’s Midland’s Grand National and was second in the Scottish National.

As a result, the bookmaker cut the odds on Goonyella to 20-1 from 25-1 to win the biggest race of the year.

“One shop punter in Birmingham has lumped on Goonyella to win the Grand National and could rake in £166,250 if he wins,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
