Gary Anderson Nine-Darter nets £9k for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
Gary Anderson, the defending William Hill World Darts Champion, landed a nine-dart finish in his semi-final match against Jelle Klaasen on Saturday night. The perfect leg came in the opening set of the match and lead to the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice receiving a charity windfall of £9,000 from the tournament sponsors.
Ahead of the tournament, William Hill guaranteed the official charity partner of the PDC a donation of £9,000 for every nine-darter landed during the tournament.
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice is based in Stoke and provides care and support services for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Staffordshire and Cheshire.
“It took until day 14 to get a nine-darter, said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, but it was worth the wait.
“We’re delighted for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice. They do brilliant work and we hope our donation helps make some difference.”
William Hill offer odds of 5/1 for a nine-darter in Sunday’s William Hill World Darts Championship Final between Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson.
