Friends Of Jo Cox Set To Fall Short Of Xmas One – But £30,000+ Raised For The Foundation

The latest odds from William Hill suggest that Clean Bandit (1/16) are set to have the Christmas number one. The price of Friends of Jo Cox winning has drifted dramatically in the last couple of days (now 33/1) and it now looks impossible that it will manage to win the race to the Xmas One.

Despite this disappointment there is some  good news for the foundation as the betting industry has got right behind the song and between the six companies mentioned below there is now £30,000 worth of guaranteed pledges with a number of firms going further and  giving profits or stakes to the fund – therefore this figure will increase significantly.

“The foundation is a great cause in Jo Cox’s memory and the betting industry is rallying round to support the fund.  Ladbrokes-Coral, SkyBet, Paddy Power-Betfair, BetFred and Jennings are all taking part along with William Hill.  Whatever happens the foundation will benefit to the tune of £30k, and with some bookmakers also adding profits or stakes on the record then we should be able to get the total industry donation well beyond this figure,” said William Hill spokesman Ciaran O’Brien.

William Hill Odds For The Christmas Number One*: 1/16 Clean Bandit, 7/1 Rag n Bone Man, 25/1 Little Mix, 33/1 Friends Of Jo Cox, 40/1 Liv N G, 50/1 Inspiral Carpets, 50/1 Matt Terry, 50/1 The London Hospices Choir

*Companies included William Hill, Sky Bet, Paddy Power-Betfair,  BetFred, Jennings Bet, Ladbrokes-Coral.
