Faugheen And Douvan Expected To Dominate

Faugheen is odds-on with William Hill to win both the Irish Champion Hurdle and the 2016 Champion Hurdle - it’s 8-11 that he does the double. Willie Mullins trains the first three in the betting for the Irish Champion Hurdle, with Faugheen at 4-11, Nichols Canyon at 10-3 and Arctic Fire at 6-1 with William Hill.

“The biggest dangers to Faugheen are from his own stable, whether that be in the Irish Champion Hurdle or at Cheltenham in March,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “Faugheen is the one that punters are backing for both races and he could well do the double.”

Meanwhile, Douvan is just 1-12 to win the Irish Arkle – he’s 8-13 to win the Cheltenham version in March.
