Farron Away Best Result For Years

THE LIB DEMS have handed bookmakers William Hill their best political betting result since the Scottish Referendum by winning the Richmond Park by -election.

'Since the Scottish Referendum every significant political betting event has been going in favour nof political punters' said Hill' spokesman Graham Sharpe.'Brexit and Donald Trump were both brilliant results for a majority of our customers, but at last we've clawed a few quid back, courtesy of the latest Lib Dem revival.'

Zac Goldsmith had attracted over  50% of all best staked and over 70% of all the money staked on the outcome with Hills, but - once again - the underdog prevailed as the Lib Dems landed the odds of 12/5 to win the seat, defeating the 1/3 favourite. Goldmsith is now 20/1 with Hills to return to the Conservative Party and become an MP for them before the next General Election after undergoing his second successive disappointment at the ballot box..

William Hill have now made the Lib Dems an odds-on shot at 8/11(57% chance) to boost their complement of seats to 12 or more at the next General Election. And Tim Farron has been installed as the joint safest major Party leader by Hills who make Jeremy Corbyn the 2/1 favourite to be the first to stand down as leader, ahead of 5/2 Paul Nuttall; 7/2 Theresa May, with Tim Farron and Nicola Sturgeon each quoted at 6/1.

The Lib Dems have been backed down to 28/1 with Hills to win an overall majority at the next General Election, while the Tories are 8/11 favourites to do likewise, with Labour 6/1 and Ukip 40/1.

WHEN WILL NEXT GENERAL ELECTION TAKE PLACE?...4/5 2020; 5/4 2017; 8/1 2018; 14/1 2019.
