Every Man And His Dog On Growl

Growl has been cut to 8-1 from 10-1 with the sponsor for the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup. Richard Fahey’s gelding wasn’t beaten very far in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood and punters are very keen on his chances. Growl had initially been priced at 14-1 for the race.

“Growl is the number one choice among punters, attracting almost 90% of all bets placed on the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup,” said spokesman for the sponsor, Jon Ivan-Duke.

William Hill also released a new market on the Doom Bar Celebration Mile, after the five-day declarations. Thikriyaat is the slight favourite at 4-1.

“Thikriyaat is lightly raced and has scope for improvement, but most of all he’s been supplemented at a cost of £10,000 and we think that’s a strong indicator connections fancy his chances,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
