Europeans Dominate Arlington Million Betting

European challengers head the betting for the Arlington Million, with William Hill making Tryster the 7-2 favourite.

Tryster was disappointing in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last time, but that was on soft ground and he is a much better horse on a quicker surface.

“Tryster ran well in the spring at Meydan and you can forgive his run at Royal Ascot on account of the ground. We think he’s the one to beat,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

One European horse who has already won a big North American Grade 1 is Mondialiste, who claimed the Woodbine Mile last September. He is 4-1 second-favourite for trainer David O’Meara.

Deauville, who most recently won the Belmont Derby Invitational under an inspired ride from Jamie Spencer, will bid for his second Grade 1 in the Arlington Million. William Hill make him 9-2 to be victorious.
