European Super League Is Unlikely But Foreign Premier League Game Could Be On The Cards

With reports suggesting that a European Super League may have been discussed involving representatives from Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and  Manchesters United and City, William Hill are offering odds of 16/1 that one is introduced before the start of the 2020/21 season and 10/1 that one exists before the 2025/26 season.

Instead it looks a lot more likely that a Premier League game is played outside the UK within the same time frames at 6/4 (2020/21) and Even money (2025/26).

“The idea of a European Super League is no doubt in its formative stages and we think it is a lot more likely that a Premier League game is played abroad before this happens,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

A European Super League to exist before the start of the English Premier league 2020/2021 season: 16/1

For this market, a ‘European Super League’ is defined as any competition involving  Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris SG competing in a home and away league format and no longer competing in their domestic leagues. Other teams may be in the ‘European Super League’ but it must include the 8 named teams.
