England’s Odds Drifting For The Win As Punters Favour Wales

With less than three hours to go until England’s match against Wales, William Hill have pushed out the price of the Three Lions winning from 8/15 at 06:32 on Thursday morning to 4/6 as Wales attract two wagers for every one struck on England. Wales have come in from 6/1 to 5/1.

“Whenever England play, you expect to see a rush of bets for them to win the game whoever they are facing, however, this time around, it looks as though a combination of English pessimism and Welsh patriotism is causing the price to drift quite drastically,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “The feeling of the British public is that Wales will win this one.”

Wales are currently the worst outcome from the game however, Hills are predicting that up to 4000 wagers per minute could be struck with them alone in the build up to the match so there is still plenty of scope for the prices to fluctuate.

Gareth Bale has attracted the most wagers in the first goalscorer market with 31% of all bets for him to open the scoring followed by Harry Kane with 24% and Wayne Rooney with 20%.

Current match odds (11:40 Thursday): 4/6 England; 5/1 Wales; 13/5 draw
