Corbyn Past The Post, Say Gamblers And Bookies

JEREMY CORBYN is now such a hot favourite with William Hill to win the Labour leadership contest, that it would cost £50 to make a profit of £1 by betting on him.

He is 1/50 favourite with Hills, which represents a 98% chance of success, while his opponent, Owen Smith is now out to 12/1.

'The Smith campaign has failed to win over political punters and Corbyn's odds have done nothing but shorten in recent weeks' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'It would now be almost a bigger shock than when he won the leadership, were he to lose it this time!'

The biggest bet so far struck on Corbyn is £60,000, from a Hill's betting shop client in Durham.

Hills offer odds of 8/11 that Corbyn will win 62% or more of the votes cast, Even money that he polls under 62%.
