Can Queen's Nag Stop Highland Gamble?

There’s a gamble on Highland Reel for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, with William Hill slashing his odds to 9-4 favourite from 11-4.

The Queen’s horse, Dartmouth, has drifted the other way and is now 11-4, having been 9-4 favourite.

“There’s a bundle of cash on Highland Reel from all the right places, but Dartmouth is the Queen’s horse and there could be a patriotic punt from the British public,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

“It would be no surprise to see Highland Reel and Dartmouth flip flop as favourites.”

Time Test is a heavy favourite for the York Stakes, which is unlikely to be a very popular betting race, but the opposite is true of the Gigaset International Stakes. Heaven’s Guest, Librisa Breeze and Suzi’s Connoisseur are likely to fight it out for favouritism in that contest, with the last named the best-backed with William Hill.
