Bookies Think Messi Could Return For 2018 World Cup

After missing a penalty in the Copa America final as Argentina lost out to Chile, Lionel Messi sensationally quit international football although it is a relatively short price that he returns for the 2018 World Cup. William Hill offer 6/5 he plays in Russia although it is odds on at 8/13 he does not.

“Messi may have quit in the heat of the moment and like a number of players down the years who have quit before their time, he may change his mind as the World Cup approaches,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Messi is 2/1 second favourite to win the Ballon d’Or this year behind Cristiano Ronaldo at 5/4.
