Blaine The Hot Horse For WH Scottish Sprint

Blaine is the hot favourite for this weekend’s William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup. The feature race at Musselburgh on Saturday sees David Nicholls’ charge bid for a follow-up after providing the trainer with a memorable winner on Derby day. It was a first win for Blaine since switching from Kevin Ryan’s yard.

Blaine had been 16-1 for the William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup before he won at Epsom and was trimmed in to 10-1, then 8-1 after his victory. Now he is the 6-1 favourite, with punters very sweet on a repeat.

“Blaine has been all the rage since winning at Epsom. It looks a really hot race, but clearly punters fancy Blaine’s chances of success on Saturday, while Kimberella and Red Baron have also been popular,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Kimberella has also halved in price since the first market was created (7-1 from 14-1). He came close to winning the Epsom “Dash” at the weekend. Red Baron has also shortened and is now 10-1 from 12-1 with William Hill.
