Barack Intervention Sparks 'Remain' Gamble

BOOKMAKERS William Hill say they have seen a significant surge of bets for a 'Remain' vote in the EU Referendum since Barack Obama supported that option.

William Hill have slashed their Remain odds from 4/9 (stake 9 for profit of 4; 69% chance) to 2/7 - (stake 7 for profit of 2 – a 78% chance). The odds for Brexit have lengthened dramatically from 7/4 (stake 4 for profit of 7 – 36%) out to 13/5 (stake 5 for profit of 13 – 27%).

'There is little doubt that it cannot just be coincidence that the sudden support for Remain has arrived at the same time as Obama's intervention' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'We've never offered shorter odds for 'Remain', or longer for 'Brexit''
