Bank Holiday Brexit Bets Boost

AFTER 85% of EU Referendum bets taken over the Bank Holiday Weekend with William Hill were for 'Leave', the bookmakers have shortened their 'Leave' odds from 4/1 (20% chance) to 7/2 (22%) and lengthened their 'Remain' odds from 1/6 (85%) to 1/5 (83%). And one Hill's customer could win over £40,000 if 'Leave' wins.

'Over the Bank Holiday weekend 85% of the actual bets we have taken have been for 'Leave' and since the book opened 70% have been for that option' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. 'But because most of the four, five and six figure bets we've taken have been for 'Remain' it is still the worst outcome for us. However, if the current trend continues the 'Leave' odds could shorten significantly before June 23.

One William Hill Yorkshire-based client has staked £3000 on a 'Leave' outcome- and doubled that up with Donald Trump becoming President. He stands to collect £41,250 if both parts of the bet are successful.
