Almanzor Slashed For Arc

Almanzor stormed in to Arc contention with an elegant performance to beat a stellar cast in the Irish Champion Stakes.

William Hill reacted by cutting Almanzor to 5-1 from 16-1 for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Dubbed as the 'Race of the Season' by many leading pundits, the race did not disappoint, even if some of the chief horses in the betting let their backers down.

"Almanzor has delivered a performance that will have the rest of Europe quaking in their boots and race fans anticipating a potentially epic Arc," said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. "For backers of Minding or Harzand, the question may be whether they keep the faith next time."

Harzand is now out to 8-1 from 5-1 with Hills for the Arc. Found ran a far better race and is now 8-1 from 14-1 for Europe's premier race, while Postponed remains 7-2 favourite.
