Wimbledon to be Wiped out by Hot Weather?

Bookmakers William Hill think there is a chance that the tennis at Wimbledon could be stopped due to the heatwave.

Very high temperatures are expected from Friday onwards, as warm air blows north from Africa – and it could halt The Championships at the All England Club.

“We’re used to rain affecting games at Wimbledon, but this time the hot weather could melt the order of play,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

William Hill offer 5/1 that play on Centre Court of Number 1 Court is suspended because of heat.

Meanwhile, Andy Murray is the 1/20 favourite to beat Vasek Pospisil when they face each other in the quarter final stage on Wednesday. Pospisil is the outsider at 9/1.

Murray is 2/5 to win in straight sets, while it is 7/4 that Pospisil manages to get at least one set off the British Number 1.

“Murray is odds-on to win in straight sets and barring injury, defeat looks out of the question for Andy,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
