William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup - Bookies Out To Beat Barnet
Barnet Fair is the best-backed horse in this weekend’s richest race; the William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup. Customers have been keen to back Barnet Fair all week and the price has significantly shortened to 7-1 from 12-1.
“Barnet Fair is the gamble of the week and he looks likely to be the worst result for us,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
The David Nicholls-trained horse was unlucky in the Epsom Dash last weekend and it appears his supporters are rallying behind his cause to run a big race at Musselburgh.
Red Baron is trained by Eric Alston and the current favourite for the contest at odds of 5-1. He was second in a competitive race at York last time behind Monsieur Joe and will be bidding to go one place better.
William Hill are also offering odds of 125-1 for any horse to go on and win the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot next week, with the likes of Boom The Groom, Arctic Feeling and Perfect Pasture outside chances of doing the double.
