William Hill Go Non-Runner, Money Back

After the latest stage for the Grand National, 74 horses will go forward as entries for the Aintree feature and following the scratchings, William Hill will be going non-runner, money-back as of 08.30am Wednesday morning.

Shutthefrontdoor is the current 8-1 favourite and is widely thought to be the most likely mount for retiring Champion Jockey AP McCoy in his final ever ride in the £1million race. However in the antepost book, Balthazar King is William Hill’s worst result at this stage and shortened over the weekend from 14-1 to 12-1.

“There’s a good spread of business so far on the race and while Balthazar King is the most interesting in the antepost book, Shutthefrontdoor could be the subject of a terrific gamble if AP McCoy is on board,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “We expect a wave of sentimental support for jump racing’s greatest jockey and it will surely drive the odds right down on the day.”
