William Hill Australia Punts on X-Rated Market
The recently announced field for the annual Literary Review Bad Sex in Fiction Awardsees English singer, lyricist, and, now, novelist Morrissey a short priced favourite.
William Hill Australia has Steven Patrick Morrissey, commonly known by his last name, Morrissey, or by his nickname, Moz, at $2.20 to be announced the winner on 1 December.
The Bad Sex in Fiction Award honours an author who has produced an outstandingly bad scene of sexual description in an otherwise good novel.
The purpose of the prize, says the Literary Review, is “to draw attention to poorly written, perfunctory or redundant passages of sexual description in modern fiction, and to discourage them”.
The prize is not intended to cover pornographic or expressly erotic literature.
$2.20 List of the Lost by Morrissey
$3.50 Fear of Dying by Erica Jong
$6 The Making of Zombie Wars by Aleksandar Hemon
$9.50 Before, During, After by Richard Bausch
$12 Book of Numbers by Joshua Cohen
$16 Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff
$16 The Martini Shot by George Pelecanos
$16 Against Nature by Tomas Espedal
