Which Brand Name Will Be Chosen For 'Marriage of Convenience'?

BRITAIN'S BIGGEST BOOKMAKER, William Hill has opened a book on how a 'marriage of convenience' between Ladbrokes and Coral might be branded, should it go ahead.

'When William Hill and Mecca bookmakers merged in 1989, it was decided that the William Hill brand was the stronger of the two and that was the name the combined company was given' said William Hill Media Relations Director, Graham Sharpe. 'Should the currently mooted marriage of convenience take place it will be interesting to see which partner is deemed to have the the stronger  name to be hoisted above the fascias of the company's retail outlets, or whether there might be a double-barrelled option, so we have opened a betting market.'

Hills have installed joint branding as their odds-on favourite at 8/11, but their odds make Ladbroke(s) 11/8 second favourite, with Coral(s) a 7/1 chance.
