What Price A Tattersalls Record?
William Hill make it 11/4 that the record price for a yearling at Tattersalls Sales is broken during Book 1, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
The current record stands at 5m guineas (£5.25m), paid by Al Shaqab Racing for a daughter of Galileo out of Alluring Park. That particular filly is now called Al Naamah and has won once in seven starts.
And on Tuesday another Galileo foal out of the same mare, who is a full sister to Was and Al Naamah, will go through the ring as Lot 43.
“There’s a reasonable chance we could see a record-breaker, but it is most likely the top lot will reach a similar figure to last year,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
William Hill make it 7/4 favourite that the top selling lot at this year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 is over 2m guineas but under 3.5m guineas.
It’s 2/1 that the top figure is between 3.5m and 5m guineas, while it is 5/1 outsider that the top selling lot goes for less than 2m guineas.
