Wayne Rooney Odds On To Break Goalscoring Record Against San Marino

Wayne Rooney scored the winner for England against Slovenia despite having missed a hatful of chances earlier in the game and he is now 5/6 to break Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record in their next match against San Marino. He is 3/1 to break the record against Switzerland and 5/1 to do so against Estonia.

It is 6/1 that he does not break the record in any of the four remaining qualifiers.

“The way that Rooney was playing today, it looked as though he did not want to score but the captain popped up with the winner to inch him closer to the record which now looks likely to fall the next time he pulls on the England shirt,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

England were the best backed side of the day with 62% of all of the days football wagers placed on Roy Hodgson’s team at 5/6.

When will Wayne Rooney break Sir Bobby Charlton’s England goalscoring record: 5/6 San Marino (a); 3/1 Switzerland (h); 5/1 Estonia (h); 8/1 Lithuania (a); 6/1 not to be broken in those four
