Vancouver new Slipper favourite + $31 -> $16 for Triple Crown

Bookie has slashed the odds of the Gai Waterhouse-trained Vancouver winning this year’s Golden Slipper from $6.50 to $2.90 following the colt’s impressive win in the Todman Stakes at Randwick.

William Hill also cut the odds from $31 to $16 in its market on whether a horse will win this year’s 2yo Triple Crown.

“Gai was the last to do it with Pierro and Vancouver is promising to be every bit as good as him,” said William Hill’s Andrew Brown.

“It’s going to take a good horse to beat in the Slipper based on today’s performance.”

Former Slipper favourite Headwater drifted from $3.70 to $8 at William Hill, and is now third favourite behind Exosphere at $5 (from $5.50). Furnaces ($9) is the only other runner in single figures.

English firmed from $17 into $12.
