US Masters: Bookmakers Keeping An Eye On Woods

Tiger Woods is the old king strutting his stuff around Augusta and the bookmakers are sitting up and paying attention.

The Masters starts on Thursday, with one of the best-backed players in the history of golf edging closer to top form and Britain’s biggest bookmakers William Hill are watching their liabilities increase on the 14-time Major winner.

“Tiger is coming in for some serious cash. Woods will always have supporters but the numbers have gradually dwindled as his search for further Major glory has fallen by the wayside in recent years. But now they are back and not only are the £5 and £10 punters putting their faith in Tiger, the big hitting wagers are coming in too,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
