Tristram 8/1 To Hunt Down Labour Leader Rivals

TRISTRAM HUNT's odds of becoming Labour Leader have been cut from 12/1 to 8/1 fourth favourite by William Hill, who make Andy Burnham 11/8 favourite, with Yvette Cooper 9/4 and Liz Kendall 7/2 third favourite.

'Tristram Hunt has been quietly but consistently backed since the Labour leadership position became vacant. He may have learned that very early front-runners in such races often eventually miss out - Ed Miliband, David Cameron, Margaret Thatcher, John Major and, of course, Chuka Umunna, are all examples of ultimate winners who were not early favourites' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Meanwhile, favourite Andy Burnham called for an early EU Referendum - and William Hill offer 1/16 that it will happen before 2019, 7/1 that it will not. Hills offer 4/11 that when the in/out EU Referendum happens it will produce a 'stay in' result, 2/1 that it will produce a 'quit' outcome.
