Thyestes Test For Djakadam

Beaten Hennessy favourite Djakadam is being aimed at a recovery mission in the Goffs Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park on Thursday and is the 3-1 favourite to get his career back on track. Djakadam started as the 5-1 favourite at Newbury, but could only manage 8th.

“Although Djakadam carries top weight, he’s been strong at the head of the market and could repay punters who hold the faith after a disappointing run in the Hennessy,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Gallant Oscar is the key mover ahead of the race – he’s shortened to 9-2 from 11-2 – and the consistent Tony Martin-trained runner will be partnered for the first time by Barry Geraghty.
