Spieth Clear Favourite For Open Following McIlroy Withdrawal

Jordan Spieth is the 5/1 favourite with William Hill to win The Open after Rory McIlroy announced he will have to withdraw due to injury. Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose round off the top three in the betting at 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.

McIlroy had been the 7/1 second favourite.

“Jordan Spieth was already our favourite to win The Open this year but the withdrawal of McIlroy means he is miles clear of the challenging field,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Speith is 14/1 to win the remaining two majors of the year.

All bets on McIlroy to win this year’s Open have been voided.

The Open winner: 5/1 Jordan Spieth; 12/1 Dustin Johnson; 16/1 Justin Rose; 20/1 Adam Scott; 20/1 Henrik Stenson; 20/1 Louis Oosthuizen; 25/1 Bubba Watson; 25/1 Jason Day; 25/1 Rickie Fowler; 25/1 Tiger Woods; 33/1 BAR
