Speedy Shalaa New Commonwealth Favourite

Speedy Shalaa New Commonwealth Favourite

Shalaa was an easy winner of the Qatar Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and William Hill now quote the John Gosden-trained winner as the new 10-1 favourite for the 2016 Commonwealth Cup.

“Shalaa looks like a very speedy colt and could be a force to be reckoned with over the sprint distances,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Despite John Gosden suggesting Shalaa will be a sprinter, Hills also quote the winner as the new 14-1 favourite for the 2000 Guineas (from 20-1).

“Plans sometimes change and as far as the betting is concerned, he would be the one to beat in the 2000 Guineas on what we have seen so far,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
