Sizeable Gamble Creates New Favourite For Best Picture

William Hill have a new favourite in their market for which film will win the Best Picture Oscar after a mammoth gamble caused Spotlight to tumble from a 33/1 outsider to a 3/1 contender. It has leapt ahead of Joy and The Revenant at the top of the betting which are both 6/1.


“We are hearing big things about Spotlight and it would seem that our punters have as well and it is now clear favourite to pick up the Best Picture at next year’s Academy Awards,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.


Another film whose odds have tumbled is Room which has gone from 40/1 to 7/1 in the space of the last seven days,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
