Royal: Charles Cut to Be King

William Hill have slashed the odds on Prince Charles becoming the next monarch. Britain’s biggest bookmakers are going against the information in a new book that suggests The Queen is concerned about her son becoming King. The unofficial biography Charles: The Heart Of A King written by Catherine Mayer claims there are concerns over whether Prince Charles would be a suitable head of state.

But William Hill have cut the odds on Charles being King – and he is odds-on to sit on the throne next.

“Charles was born to be king and our customers are all but certain that he will be the next monarch,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

William Hill cut the price on Charles to be the succeeding monarch from odds of 2/7 to a price of 1/4, while pushing out the odds of Prince William to 11/4 from 5/2.
