Royal Baby: Bookies Facing Double Whammy If She Is Called Alice!

Britain’s biggest bookmaker, William Hill, have taken a five figure hit today after 80% of their customers correctly predicted that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge would have a baby girl. The bookies now potentially face a further six figure hit should they decide to call her Alice. Long term favourite, Alice, is 11/8 with bets of up to £500 placed in recent weeks although Charlotte has recently overtaken the name and is the current 5/4 favourite.

“We are paying out in the region of £50,000 on the fact that it is a girl and we are desperately hoping that they don’t call her Alice because that will spark a second monster payout, which could easily top £100,000!” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
