Rio Dances To £250,000!!

A sensational William Hill Greyhound Derby Final saw Rio Quattro emerge as the top dog and win the biggest race in the world and the largest cheque in the sport - £250,000.

It was a magnificent display of canine prowess as he overturned the odds-on favourite Farloe Blitz - and he saved the blushes of the bookmakers too, as William Hill would have lost more than £200,000 had the favourite won.

"Rio Quattro has blasted Blitz aside and saved the bookies a huge amount," said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. "He's a worthy winner in what has been one of the best ever Derby competitions."

Rio Quattro is 50-1 co-favourite to win again next year, while beaten finalists Eden The Kid and Farloe Blitz are the same price.
