Redstart toppled Tiggy Wiggy

Redstart toppled Tiggy Wiggy in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury and William Hill have reacted by scratching Tiggy Wiggy from the 1000 Guineas betting and trimming the winner to 16-1 from 66-1.

“We’ve wipe Wiggy out of the Classic betting because she didn’t turn up today,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “Redstart has readily enhanced her claims for Classic glory.”

Tiggy Wiggy was a 16-1 chance for the first fillies’ Classic of the season, but after an underwhelming performance, William Hill think it is unlikely she will turn up at Newmarket for the 1000 Guineas.

William Hill have also shortened the runner-up Jellicle Ball to 12-1 from 25-1 for the 1000 Guineas and to 7-1 from 14-1 for the Epsom Oaks, as she looks likely to come on for the run.

“The runner-up has impressed us more than the winner, she wasn’t asked many questions and she looks like she could really improve for the run.”
