Punters Move for African Story

William Hill are witnessing a move in the market for African Story ahead of next weekend’s Dubai World Cup. Last year’s winner has plunged in to 7-1 from 10-1.

Initially, William Hill trimmed the reigning champion to 9-1 on Sunday morning, but that price was shortened to 7-1 just six minutes later after continued support.

“Sheikh Hamdan’s positive comments about African Story being more suited to the new Meydan surface than the US runners appears to be influencing the market,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “It hasn’t stopped the excitement around California Chrome though and he is the hot favourite.”

Dubai World Cup: 13-8 California Chrome, 7-2 Lea, 7-1 African Story, Epiphaneia, 12-1 Candy Boy, Hokko Tarumae, Ron The Greek, 14-1 Prince Bishop, 25-1 Side Glance, 33-1 Long River,  (EW 1/5 Odds Places 1,2,3)
