PSG Overcome 1/7 Odds To Qualify: 1/5 No English Sides Qualify

Chelsea were as short as 1/7 with William Hill to qualify for the next stage at the Champions League with just minutes to play both in normal time and in extra time, yet were knocked out by PSG who are 9/1 to win the tournament.

“Chelsea were all but through,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “They were the subject 60% of all of Wednesday’s football bets and very nearly landed for punters and their fans, however, it is another year without the Champions League for Mourinho and his team.”

After Bayern Munich thumped Shakhtar, they are the 5/2 favourites ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid who are both offered at 3/1.

With Arsenal and Manchester City on the ropes, it is 1/5 that there are no English sides in the next round of the Champions League.

Champions League winner: 5/2 Bayern Munich; 3/1 Barcelona; 3/1 Real Madrid; 9/1 PSG; 20/1 Atletico; 25/1 Juventus; 40/1 Borussia Dortmund; 40/1 Porto; 50/1 Arsenal; 50/1 Manchester City; 50/1 Monaco; 66/1 Bayer Leverkusen
