Politics General Election By Graham Sharpe

Political Football Matches; Clegg & Farage Both Win/Lose; TV Debate Odds

Bookmakers William Hill have created  a series of 'matches' involving  Parties contesting the General Election, and are offering odds for Parties to win their particular 'game' by collecting more seats than their opponents, or that the two will have an equal number.

Hills make the Tories 8/15 to beat Labour, who are 6/4, with a draw between the two offered at 25/1.

They make Ukip Evens favourites to beat Plaid Cymru, who are 11/5 to come out on top, while it is 4/1 a draw between them.

The Greens are 21/10 to win more seats than Respect, who are 4/1 to win more, with a draw offered at 4/6.

The SNP are the hottest favourites at 1/7 to win their match, against the Lib Dems, who are 11/2, with the draw at 11/1.

'This is an interesting way- a kind of political football match - of pitching Parties likely to win similar amounts of seats against each other' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL ARE OFFERING ODDS FOR BOTH NICK CLEGG (Sheffield Hallam) & NIGEL FARAGE (South Thanet) TO WIN OR LOSE THE SEATS THEY ARE CONTESTING:

Both Clegg and Farage to win their constituencies: 6/5

Both Clegg and Farage to lose their constituencies: 6/1
