Platini’s Odds Drifting As FA Withdraw Support

With the news that the FA have withdrawn their support for Michel Platini (at least for the time being) William Hill have pushed out the odds of the Frenchman becoming the next permanent FIFA President from 11/4 to 9/2. As a result, Prince Ali bin al-Hussein’s odds on winning have gone from 8/11 to 8/13.

“Having been as short as 1/3 just a month ago, recent revelations have really hit Platini and his chances of becoming the next FIFA President and it now looks as though Prince Ali has the race sewn up as long as he can keep his powder dry in the next three or four months,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent FIFA President: 8/13 Prince Ali bin al-Hussein; 9/2 Michel Platini; 8/1 Issa Hayatou; 10/1 Sheik Ahmad Al-Sabah; 16/1 Luis Figo; 20/1 BAR
