Showbusiness Specials Betting Oscars / Film Awards By Jon Ivan-Duke

Oscars: Is Your Speech Ready, Eddie?

Eddie Redmayne is a near-certain Oscar winner if you follow the betting. William Hill make The Theory Of Everything star 1/4 favourite – that means if you had a £4 bet and Eddie lands the Oscar, you’d take away a £5 winning bet, making just £1 profit.

To give a comparison, going in to the final race of the 2014 F1 season, Lewis Hamilton was 17 points ahead of Nico Rosberg in the drivers’ championship. Lewis was the same odds to lift the title ahead of that race, as Eddie is to win the Best Actor Oscar.

“Eddie is racing clear of his rivals in the Best Actor betting and we would be very surprised if he isn’t celebrating at the Oscars,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

William Hill Oscars Specials:

  • 2/1 Benedict Cumberbatch will photo bomb during the Oscars ceremony.
  • 3/1 that the winner of either Best Actress or Supporting Actress will be wearing Victoria Beckham at the Oscars.
  • 5/1 that Jennifer Lawrence will trip for the third year in a row.
  • 8/1 that any photo taken on the Red Carpet or throughout the Oscars ceremony will be retweeted one million times before the end of the ceremony.
