Odds Slashed On Record Brrrrrr-eaking Winter!
William Hill have cut the price of the lowest recorded temperature in Britain being broken with more wicked weather around the corner for the majority of the United Kingdom.
The record lowest temperature of -27.2C – set in Aberdeenshire in 1982 – is 8/1 (from 10/1) to be broken north of the border and 5/1 (from 8/1) to be broken in either Scotland, England or Wales.
London has so far managed to avoid the extreme winter weather, however, with snow and frost just around the corner for the capital, it is 25/1 for the UK Parliament to be shut for weather reasons before the end of April and 50/1 that Big Ben fails to chime for the same reason.
“So far, the winter has been relatively mild, however, the extreme conditions have now set in and this winter could well be a record breaker,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
