Nobel Prize Latest Betting

Haruki Murakami is the 4/1 favourite with William Hill to win the Nobel Prize for Literature which is announced on Thursday. The Japanese author, who has never won the award has been favourite for six of the last seven years yet somehow the award has escaped him.


“We say it every year but surely this year belongs to Murakami,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.


In the Peace Prize, Angela Merkel is now the 2/1 clear favourite to scoop the award having been a 33/1 outsider just two days ago.


“Angela Merkel has been key to Germany’s generous gesture to refugees fleeing the crisis in Syria and she has been backed off the boards to win the Peace Prize,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
