Muthmir Trimmed For York

Muthmir has been trimmed by William Hill from 11-2 to 5-1 as the betting market for the Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes gathers momentum. William Haggas is a trainer to follow for punters at York, with an excellent return of £51.85 to a pound level stakes over the past five seasons. Despite confident remarks from Kevin Ryan about Astaire, he is no longer outright favourite, with William Hill pushing him out to 5-1 from 9-2. Marco Botti’s Naadirr joins Astaire and Muthmir as 5-1 co-favourite.

“It is anyone’s guess who will start favourite in such a competitive race,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Bookmakers William Hill are taking a good spread of money across the race, with support for Lightning Moon (William Hill are top price 6-1), while at longer odds Aetna at 14-1 and Justice Day at 16-1 have attracted the each-way backers.

The Musidora Stakes market is relatively quiet at this stage – but William Hill have a special double market. It’s 12-1 for Star Of Seville to win both the Musidora and the Oaks, while Together Forever is 20-1 and Pandora is 80-1 to do the double.
