Muthmir The Goodwood King

Muthmir The Goodwood King

Muthmir defied a penalty to land the Qatar King George Stakes at Goodwood and William Hill have cut his odds for the Nunthorpe Stakes to 6-1 from 7-1.

William Haggas’ gelded son of Invincible Spirit impressed in the Group 2 contest, with the trainer now suggesting Muthmir will be aimed at all the top sprints.

But it wasn’t all celebrations, with bookmakers William Hill reporting it was a bad result.

“Muthmir was the best-backed horse in the race and he’s hit us for more than half a million pounds,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
