Mr Singh Flies in for Frankie

Rumour has it that the horse, Mr Singh, is named after the gentleman who greets owners, the Bamford’s, when they fly in to India.

And there was a flying dismount from Frankie Dettori who got off the mark at this year’s July Festival in the first race, the Bahrain Trophy.

William Hill quote the winner at 11-1 from 14-1 for the St Leger, staying on well in the closing stages to win quite comfortably.

Mr Singh was behind current 4-1 Leger favourite Storm The Stars in a Listed race at Goodwood earlier in the year.

“Mr Singh has won easily and he is on an upward curve so he could well give a better account of himself against Storm The Stars in the Leger,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
