Morgan To Duck Again?

England Best Backed For World Cup Glory…

England are 11/5 to defeat Australia in their opening Cricket World Cup match of the tournament with William Hill who make Eoin Morgan’s side 9/1 to win the whole thing. Despite their dubious form, however, it is England who are the best backed side to win the World Cup followed by third favourites, New Zealand – who are 9/2.

Australia on the other hand are 4/11 to win the match against England in the early hours of Saturday morning and 7/4 favourites to win the tournament.

England need their captain to fire all cylinders if they are to do anything in the World Cup but as things stand, he is woefully short of form. With three ducks in his last four innings, Morgan is 8/1 to add to that tally against Australia.

England look likely to fall in the quarter finals with that stage offered at 5/6 as the most likely exit point of the tournament.

Ireland and Scotland are an unlikely 250/1 and 1000/1 to win the World Cup although one gutsy/optimistic punter has wagered £200 at 500/1 on the Irish lifting the trophy.
