Market Momentum Shifts To Deauville, Ballydoyle Reel Chance In Cox

Ahead of the Racing Post Trophy, Foundation is the best-backed horse in the race as the 10-11 favourite with William Hill.

But, now Aidan O’Brien has confirmed his likely trio for the race, the market momentum has switched to 7-2 second favourite Deauville.

“While Foundation has already been laid, the market momentum has now shifted to Deauville as punters seek to back Ballydoyle’s top chance in the race,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Away from the UK, one of the biggest races in the Australian calendar takes place on Saturday at Moonee Valley; the William Hill Cox Plate.

Aidan O’Brien was successful with Adelaide last year and he will be hoping that Highland Reel can make it two on the bounce for Ballydoyle. William Hill UK price Highland Reel as the 4-1 favourite and it is the market leader that British punters are backing, along with Arod who has shortened from 8-1 to 7-1 in the past 24 hours.

“British punters are sticking with the horses that they know best, namely Highland Reel and Arod,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “It looks like the British and Irish raiders have a good chance of striking Aussie gold.”
