Manchester City vs Barcelona: Will History Repeat Itself?

Manchester City are 5/2 to defeat Barcelona on Tuesday evening and 2/1 to qualify according to William Hill bookmakers. They are 20/1 to win the competition and are 5/1 to go further than any other British side in this year’s competition.

Manchester City were up against it at this stage last season after a red card for Martin Demichelis at 0-0 saw their chances of a home win diminish. It is 6/1 for a Manchester City red on Tuesday, while in an echo of last season’s return leg, it is 5/1 that City receive a red card in Barcelona.

“Manchester City are up against it again in their quest to reach the later rounds of the Champions League and it looks likely that they will fall at the first knockout hurdle again,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

It could be Wilfried Bony’s first Champions League appearance and he is 6/4 to score anytime – the same price as Sergio Aguero.
