Mad the Bright Spark with Money For Thunder

William Hill can report two strong moves in the BetBright Cup Chase; for Black Thunder and Smad Place. Smad Place has shortened to 7-2 from 9-2 after a wave of bets, with the Alan King-trained horse the most popular selection for punters seeking some value.

Smad Place was a progressive novice last season and after finishing 5th in the Hennessy last time out, the bets are already down for him to serve it up to 9-4 favourite Dynaste and 3-1 second-favourite Many Clouds. But he’s not the only one that’s interesting in the market – Black Thunder is a strong positive moving from 12-1 to 8-1 after some very live shop money across William Hill retail.

“Smad Place is the one for the majority of our punters so far, but the move for Black Thunder is potentially more interesting with our shops reporting many of the big boys are getting stuck in to the Nicholls’ horse,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile in the Cleeve Hurdle, the early money has all been for Un Temps Pour Tout, who hasn’t been seen since May. William Hill have trimmed the odds to 5-1 from 7-1 to reflect his popularity.

“Considering Un Temps Pour Tout has been off for a while, there’s some good vibes in the market for him which would suggest he could be a real player on Saturday,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
