Lowry Is Early Favourite To Be New £20 Name But Plenty Of Names From The Art World In The Running!
LS Lowry is the 8/1 favourite to replace Adam Smith on the British £20 according to bookmakers William Hill. The artist has been installed at the top of the betting ahead of the sculptor Barbara Hepwoth, George Stubbs, JMW Turner and William Blake all at 12/1.
Other names in the running according to Britain’s biggest bookie, are Richard Attenborough at 14/1 and Henry Moore at 16/1.
“LS Lowry is one of the nation’s most influential and revered artists and while he was famed for turning down accolades during his lifetime, he is the early favourite to receive this posthumous honour,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Amongst the outsiders are Thomas Burberry, Laura Ashley and Alexander McQueen all at 100/1.
