Late Labour Rally To Win Oldham For Labour?

The odds for Labour to win the Oldham West/Royton by-election, which had been lengthening, have turned as the vote comes close, and bookmakers William Hill have shortened the party's odds from 4/11 to 2/9 favourites, while Ukip's have lengthened from 2/1 to 3/1.

'Labour started out red hot favourites at 1/12 when we first opened the book, with Ukip at 6/1. Until a couple of days ago political punters had only wanted to be on a Ukip win, but in the last 24-48 hours the market seems to have turned back to Labour' said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

At the start of betting, Labour were 10/11 to claim 50% or more of the votes cast but they have now drifted out to 3/1 to do so.

To win By-Election... 2/9 Lab; 3/1 Ukip; 100/1 Cons; 200/1 Greens/Lib Dems
